Transport & Logistics Centre: Communications audit/lobbying strategy
Globe Workplace conducted a communications audit of TALC’s existing communications strategy. As a result of the audit Globe developed a stakeholder strategy, focusing on targeted lobbying of the state & federal government.
Linfox Transport: Research into/ audit of internal recruitment and retention of skilled employees
Globe Workplace was engaged to undertake research into the issues surrounding recruitment and retention of skilled truck drivers within Linfox Transport. The report delivered a series of recommendations about improvements to internal processes to increase recruitment and retention. Qualitative research involved three focus groups of Linfox truck drivers, one held in each of the eastern states. Research was also conducted into the perceptions of key human resources and operations personnel across the same three states in the form of in depth interviews undertaken during the project.
Victorian Government; Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development: Research into perceptions of SME to skills shortages
Globe Workplace was engaged to undertake research into the perceptions and attitudes of small to medium sized enterprise owners towards skills shortages in their industries and individual business workforce plans. Focus groups were conducted with SME owners with businesses sized from seven employees to 67 employees. The research formed the basis of a campaign to engage SME owners in active workforce planning, with particular focus on industries experiencing a shortage in skilled workers.
Transport & Logistics Centre: Research into Workforce Challenges in the Road Transport Industry:
With co-sponsoring by Linfox Transport and Toll Holdings, Globe Workplace staff conducted a national research project into the current skills shortage of truck drivers. Research involved extensive stakeholder interviews with employers and employer personnel, industry representatives, employee representatives and employees all associated with the road transport industry.
This research has now formed the basis of a national strategy to deal with labour shortages through the Australian Logistics Council and particularly focused on young workers.
