Below are a selected number of the research projects Globe worked on over the last twelve months

July 2008

Conducted Support Staff Membership based research for the Independent Education Union of NSW

Globe conducted on behalf of the IEU a mail base survey of which over 850 support staff members completed. The survey captured demographic information about support staff members as well as their views on the workplace, issues of concern and their satisfaction with the IEU’s performance. The report is being utilised by the Union to further their current recruitment campaign with potential support staff members.

April 2008

Conducted Membership based research for the Independent Education Union of NSW

Conducted a delegate online survey, which was completed by over 400 Union Delegates (Chapter Representatives) and a mail base survey of over 800 members. The surveys captured demographic information and assessed Members and Chapter Representatives views on their workplace, issues of concern and their satisfaction with the IEU’s performance.

March 2008

Conducted Stakeholder and Issues management for Acer Computers

Research, conducted and arrange government briefings and overviewed communications for tender applications.

January 2008

Commenced HSU Member Recruitment Program in NSW

Globe has used the research conducted with the HSU’s membership in 2007 to form the basis of the Orientation recruitment campaign which to date has recruited over 500 hundred new HSU members in NSW.

October 2007

Commenced 4th Annual Survey of members of the Transport Workers’ Union NSW Branch

Globe Workplace conducted its fourth survey of TWU members in NSW, allowing the TWU to track changes to its membership, their issues and political motivators. This is the only known survey of transport workers over any period of time.

September 2007

Conducted National research into political and workplace issues union members and potential members

Globe Workplace conducted a national phone poll in key federal electorates to determine election issues and potential union campaigns. The report gave insight into the political and industrial differences between union and non union members.

August 2007

Presented the report Workforce Challenges and Opportunities: Linfox Transport

Globe Workplace conducted research and analysis into recruitment and retention of truck drivers specifically into Linfox Transport, Australia’s second largest transport company. It is the first workforce planning report prepared for a major transport company in Australia.
